Ancient Egypt may be the most well-known use of healing crystals throughout the history. Crystals and gemstones were used as an important component of medicine and also used as protective amulets and talismans to purge off evil spirits.

Crystal jewellery has been worn by ancient cultures for thousands of years.

The most common crystals used by Egyptians were Lapis Lazuli, Carnelian, Clear Quartz, Turquoise and Emerald in their jewellery and were worn by woman and also by men.

Gemstones and crystals were used constantly in rituals, particularly when they buried their dead, placing a quartz crystal upon the forehead. It was believed that its energetic power helped the dead finding their way in the afterlife.

Royalty and people in a high social position wore crystal and gemstone jewellery in honour of their Gods and Goddesses. Royal ladies usually donated jewels with Lapis Lazuli "the stone of heaven". This rich blue stone was associated with Isis, Goddess of sky.

Gemstones and crystals were also placed in amulets and talismans, especially the Carnelian crystal one of the most preferred by the Egyptians, symbolizing the Blood of Isis.
